First of all, I want to thank all the people that have decided to follow my blog, it means a lot to me!
I also wanted to apologize if I haven’t written anything since last Tuesday BUT I was thinking and planning this blog post (which will have a part 2) because I think that one of the biggest difference I’m noticing between 2017 and 2018 is that I feel a lot more positive and active now – maybe it’s because the first day of the year was a Monday so it’s like the universe aligned to empower new beginnings?
Anyway… since I’ve noticed that a positive mindset has a pretty big impact on how you live your life I thought I would love to share a way to (maybe) help or just inspire others to think more positively. I am going to give you little tips on I changed something whether it is about my style (coming on part 2), my home decor and, most importantly, my mindset, which is going to be the first topic of this blog post.
- Find your purpose (and stick to it!)
This is what I’ve been telling myself this entire week. It doesn’t matter if it is big or small, finding a purpose in your life keeps you mentally active and sticking to something that is also your passion it’s going to have a very positive impact on how you see things. For me, starting this blog has had a very positive impact in my life and I finally feel like I’m putting my energy into something I really love. (So thank you to anyone that has appreciated what I’ve been doing ’til now, I promise there’s so much more to come!)
2. Don’t compare yourself to others
This one is very important for me: every time you see something you feel jealous of, take that thought, look at it and analyse it. Use what makes you jealous about others and motivate yourself to work even harder for the things you want! Remember this: the time you spend feeling jealous looking at someone else’s achievements could be the time you work to accomplish your own goals. Work and be patient and you’ll be on a good way to achieve your goals!
These the two most important things I will try to always remember and tell myself throughout 2018! Now that we have two tips to start with, let’s jump into the fun stuff!
3. Make the place you live more yours and keep it clean
And also maybe.. add some colours! Yes, I love my basics even in home decor, but you know what? I’ve had enough of black and white and grey… January is still a cold month and we wanna bring some spring and maybe some sun into us, no? What better way to get into this than adding some coloured accents to your home decor?! For example, I like using magazines to decorate my house and when I find a good cover I am so excited! For the month of January, this is what one of my living room furnitures looks like:
As you can see I love having a clear base and for the living room I have chosen this light washed sort of consolle table and I added some gold (which is a new addiction to me!) some reds and some greens. Since I have done this, I feel so much more inspired to decorate my house with colours because everytime I look at these pieces I feel like I can come up with lots of combinations to make my place look more warm, spring and just nice looking. To me, having a nice and clean space is very important because it’s where I spend most of the day and having it like I want it inspires me and keeps me motivated to maintain it nice and tidy. I also like to display flowers in my house and I like to arrange them, so this is what one of my vases looks like:
I really love this flower combination but also how these colours look all together. Plus, you wanna know a tip? If you buy fake flowers not only they will last longer (or even forever! ahah) but they are much cheaper! Plus you can make whatever combination you want to keep your house look nice.
Plus, I have some more “wisdom pills” right here, some of the things I’ve been thinking of this week to keep a positive mindset:
- Try to make a plan and follow it.
- Set your goals and work to achieve them.
- Go to places that make you feel happy.
- Appreciate and be grateful for the people who support you.
- Surround yourself with positive people who love you.
- Cook for the people you love.
- Spend time with your loved ones.
- Drink prosecco on weekends! (jk.. but a good glass of prosecco it’s a nice and fancy treat to yourself after a week of work).
- Plan your work.
- Get some good sleep.
- .. And repeat!
What do you think about these tips? I find them so helpful for me! I know remaining positive and concentrate can sometimes be difficult but set this as a goal and try to achieve it! It’s normal to feel a bit down sometimes but remember that anything worth having takes a little extra time and patience but all in all the magic is in the journey.
