What’s on my Perfumes Wish list for Spring

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Today I wanted to show you what’s on my perfumes wish list because I’ve recently done some researches and looked for the best fragrances to try out this spring. WARNING: THERE’S GOING TO BE A LOT OF JO MALONE IN THIS POST!

When it comes to this time of the year, I like to refresh everything, from fashion to fragrances to my home decor too and get into the mood for more sun, hotter weather and more days out enjoying the new season and as for fragrances, I like to get something that awakens my senses, something fresh and different so I came up with this wish list of perfumes I definitely want to add to my collection not only for the spring time but also for the summer, since I think they will be perfect for hotter days too.

But for now, if it’s cold where you live, grab your tea or your coffee, whatever you fancy, and let’s jump into the fun stuff! (I will link all of the products mentioned in this post at the end of it so you can get a look at it and shop them if you want :*)

1. Peony and Blush Suede Cologne by Jo Malone

If you’re not new to my blog, you know that I love Jo Malone so much, in fact I reviewed the Red Roses Cologne on one of my first posts and if you want, you can read it right here

Since I’ve been loving that cologne so much, I thought I might as well try something else from the brand so some weeks ago I went to the Jo Malone Boutique in Turin to get their (free! <3) hands and arms massage discovering their fragrance combining where they basically suggest you two fragrances based on your taste and then mix them during the massage to get your perfect match. Since I like floral perfumes, I started with this one that I already knew and I just love the smell of it because it smells straight like peonies, so it’s a very delicate and fresh smell, perfect if you love very feminine, floral and fresh fragrances and this one would be perfect for the spring time, plus the best thing about all the Jo Malone fragrances is that you really need a small amount of product – since it is very concentrated – so I think that even if you get the smallest size (which is 30 ml), you still get so many uses out of it and even applying the smallest amount is going to guarantee a long lasting smell on your skin for all day long.

Actually, I tried to combine it with a more citrusy one because, – as I mentioned in one of my previous post – one of the combinations I am going to try out this spring is the mix of floral and citrusy fragrances and I found the perfect one to pair with Peony and Blush suede, and this second one is of course on my wish list.

2. Orange Blossom Cologne by Jo Malone

I am so speechless when it comes to this one because I just think this is the perfect citrusy fragrance for me: it doensn’t smell TOO citrusy when you apply it, but it’s so perfect if you like these kinds of smells because it definitely gives you that vibe without being heavy; it remains very fresh and just perfect for the spring time and it surely awakens your senses and gets you into the mood of sun and hot days so I really suggest checking it out. Honestly this is for sure one (if not THE ONE) of the fragrances that made me appreciate citrusy perfumes on myself and the combination between this one and Peony and Blush Suede it’s just perfect to me.

Of course, you can use these two fragrances by themselves and they will totally work fine; on one side, you have something very floral and fresh if you gravitate more towards that while on the other side you get something different, definitely citrusy but still fresh and not heavy at all.

When I had the massage, they also used the Peony Blush and Suede Body and Hand Wash and the matching body cream (they choose the one you like the best as a base) and this helps first of all with keeping your skin hydrated and when your skin is hydrated your perfume will last much longer, plus if you use a cream that has the same smell as the fragrance you will use you can imagine how long it’s going to last… in fact mine lasted all day and even the day after, so these two are definitely coming to join my collection soon! Plus, if you get these two fragrances and you combine them it’s like getting a third perfume so it’s definitely worth your money!

3. English Pear and Freesia Cologne by Jo Malone

I’ve warned you, lots of Jo Malone in this post! So the third fragrance on my wishlist is the English Pear and Freesia by Jo Malone and this is the most recent I have tried because yesterday I went to the Jo Malone Boutique and got another massage because I think it is the best way to experience the fragrance combining and to test how the fragrances work on you… plus it’s a simple but great way to spoil yourself a bit so shout out to Jo Malone to make this girl happy every time!

This cologne is a more fruity one as you would have guessed from the pear inside it, but the freesia definitely adds a slightly more feminine and most of all fresh touch to it, which again is my goal to get fresh fragrances for the spring. I chose this one as the base of my massage since I absolutely loved it and I have to say this was a great choice because once I smelled the body wash and the body cream as well, I coudn’t stop smelling my hands and my arms: it is so fresh, fruity and just different from any other things I’ve smelled before because again, I’m not very into fruity perfumes but this one, with the touch of fresia in it, it’s a great way to get to play with something different and I think I got addicted to it. I definitely suggest you trying this one out if you love both fruity and floral perfumes because these two groups are so masterly combined into this fragrances that you will be amazed.

4. Tuberose Angelica Cologne Intense by Jo Malone

Yesterday, when I had the massage, I was asked to choose a second fragrance to combine with English Pear and Freesia and even thou I think that fragrance is perfect by itself, I had to choose something and I went for a fragrance that would accentuate the flowery smell on the previous one and since I love tuberose’s smell I thought it could be a perfect pair!

It was actually a great pair and even if I didn’t combine it with English Pear and Freesia, I would have still loved this fragrance by itself. It’s straight out a flowery smell, very intense, feminine and elegant which is a staple for me when it comes to fragrances. I cannot say anything else on this fragrance as I only tried it combined, but this is my first impression after using it during yesterday’s massage. I really loved it and I cannot wait to see how it lasts on myself and how it’s going to smell on my skin when it’s by itself.

5. Tiffany & Co. Eau de Parfum by Tiffany & Co.

This one has been out for a while now and being a Tiffany fan I was so happy to see they released their first fragrance. When I first saw it in real life I was amazed by the elegance of the bottle because I think it really represents this brand’s idea of elegance, femininity and it’s over all very iconic with that pop of “Tiffany” blue. Speaking about the fragrance itself, I have to say I wasn’t very impressed by this one at the beginning and it felt like a flop to me because yes it was fresh but almost too fresh to the point that you couldn’t really smell anything after just few minutes of applying it.

I couldn’t give myself peace over this fact (dramatic) because I couldn’t believe Tiffany failed with its first fragrance so I gave myself time to smell it over and over again (I asked for a sample in a shop). First I came to the conclusion that yes, it is very very fresh and maybe if you’re into really strong fragrances then this is not the one for you and one thing that possibly made me doubt about this perfume was that it was released during winter or autumn, a time of the year where one usually goes for more intense fragrances. But as I tried it on myself and as the good weather it’s coming out, I think that this one would be a perfect one if you like really really fresh fragrances and I think this can be easily worn during day time as an every day perfume. I personally love fresh perfumes but I like them to have strong personality and the combination of both it’s something I really look for in a fragrance and as I’m thinking about this product I realize that such a fresh fragrance with very very soft and light floral touches is something I had never heard before, so I think I will give this one a go especially during summer time when it’s very hot and you don’t need to wear very strong fragrances.

6. Valentino Donna Eau De Parfum by Valentino

Oh… I can’t explain how much I love this one. I have a whole box filled with samples and if I don’t know what perfume I want to wear, I go through those samples to try something new but to also learn about new fragrances before buying them.

One week ago maybe I was feeling a bit uninspired by my current perfumes (those days are rare but they happen :P) so I opened the magic box of samples and I magically started feeling inspired again! When I look at new fragrances I feel like my mind opens, if this isn’t love I don’t know what is!

Anyway… I saw this sample of the Valentino Donna Edp and I was very inspired by the picture of the bottle, which looked very luxurious but simple at the same time, all pink and feminine with some gold details. I also loved the texture of it and since I had never tried it I went for this one. Immediately I told myself “why don’t you have this one already?!” because you can tell straight away that this is an iconic and beautiful fragrance. It embraces my tastes so much it’s truly a shame I don’t own it already! ahah

If you have read my previous posts, you know I am a sucker for feminine, fresh, flowery and luxurious fragrances and this one is exactly what I look for in my perfumes but even more because it smells like positivity, youth, spring, joy, flowers, sun, pink… all the good things ❤

This one is definitely going to get so many uses this spring!

I guess this is it for today’s post, these are for sure the fragrances I am going to get myself for the new season and as the new one come out I will be more than happy to give yourself some thoughts on them! Also, what are your favourite fragrances for spring?

Let me know in the comments below! I’ll catch you guys on my next post, ’til then

Lots of Love!
